Very Rare, 1986 Zimmer Quicksilver

Very Rare, 1986 Zimmer Quicksilver

Very Rare, 1986 Zimmer Quicksilver For Sale By Owner

Zimmer Quicksilver is a luxury coupe model built by an automaker from the United States, Zimmer Motorcars Corporation, based in Syracuse, New York. The company was founded in 1978 by Paul Zimmer, an automotive industrialist whose hobby was designing model vehicles. Zimmer Motorcars Corporation was founded to become a neo-classical car manufacturer, producing cars with classic, vintage, or retro looks, but based on a modern platform.

Zimmer's first production car was the vintage-looking Golden Spirit, produced from 1978 to 1988. And what we're offering here, his second model was the Zimmer Quicksilver, a mid-engined two-door luxury car based on the Pontiac Fiero. Manufactured from 1984 to 1988, the Zimmer Quicksilver became one of the most iconic luxury coupes of the mid-1980s, but at a price many say is outrageous. That costs over $50,000, for a car that's a rebuilt Fiero.

Hard To Find, 1986 Audi Coupe GT For Sale

Found this one being offered for sale on Craigslist, a rare 2-door sports coupe produced and sold by the German car manufacturer Audi, a high-performance version based on the Audi B2 platform known as the fastback Audi Coupe GT, that was released in 1986 finished red over Black upholstery, has been driven approximately 123465 miles looking for a new owner. Hard to find today, especially in this condition, the appearance present well in the photos. Thirty years of age doesn't seem to have much effect on the inside or outside of this car.

If you're familiar with and have fallen in love with an early Volkswagen GTI, that will be easy for you to love this one, almost equally. The Audi Coupe GT has a basic shape similar to the Audi Quattro GT which was very famous as Audi's flagship car in the World Rally Championship in that period.

1986 Audi Coupe GT interior

You may be surprised at the inside, the interior looks in impressive condition for its age. No words about renovation, everything remains in its original trim with normal signs of wear, no cracks or scratches except for open seams on the front seat leather, the rest was great. The good news is that all gauges, panels, and instruments are still in good working condition.

1986 Audi Coupe GT Engine

It's a twin brother of the Quattro GT, all specs are the same except the drivetrain, which is offered here as an FWD model while the Quattro is AWD. As shown here is an Audi five-pot engine mated to a manual transmission. The 2.2-liter inline five-cylinder engine sits neatly in its bay with no issues mentioned, and it looks pretty promising from here.

The car was listed on Craigslist about 22 days ago, for $5700 in Meridian Hills, Indiana. As always, a closer inspection is needed to find its accurate condition.
