Two year later 1991, Carroll Shelby ride a pre-production car as the pace vehicle in the Indianapolis 500, and went on sale in January 1992 as the RT/10 Roadster. Only 285 Dodge Vipers were produced in 1992, the vehicle's first year of production. Dodge sold 200 of those vehicles through the U.S. market and sold the remaining 85 internationally.
