Found this one being offered for auction on eBay, an all-wheel-drive sports coupe made by German car manufacturer Audi built-in 1987. It's a 1987 Audi Coupe GT Quattro, Euro spec on red metal, ready to go for a new owner.It's one of the most desirable cars among speed junkies especially in Europe. Over a third decade, it still runs and drives perfectly, with a 2.2L 5-cylinder rebuilt and re-tuned engine a few months ago. It could be a nice example of Audi Quattro on the market today.
Detail about this Quattro
The Good:
- It has the naturally aspirated 2.2L 5 cylinder engine. I have had the head rebuilt 3,000 miles ago and the engine's been re-tuned as well by JK Automotive in Summerville, SC
- The exhaust has been been rebuilt from the downpipes on, the sound of it has a great note
- The wiring harness has been partially rewired professionally by Horner Bros. Auto Electrics in England for reliability
- The interior has been fully re-stitched in Black leather with Red piping
- Rare 16" Team Dynamics wheels
- No dings or dents
- It drives strong without any hesitations
The Bad:
- Underbody corrosion in some spots including some bubbling under some paint areas
- Suspension needs attention but it's still functional
- The clutch works fully, but the pedal has about an inch of play. It's fairly typical of Audis this age
- Passenger side window regulator is bad
- Some of the interior bits are loose, but easy to fix
Overall, it is a very solid car which can easily be used as a daily driver if desired
