Hard To Find Camper, 1966 Ford Econoline Super Van For Sale
Found this ultra-rare camper van based on an American vintage van that was offered for sale by the owner, was listed on craigslist for $29,999 located in Orange County, California. This first generation of the Ford E-series, commonly known named Econoline or Super Van was a range of full-size vans manufactured and marketed by the Ford Motor Company in 61-67. Originally the Econoline was designed as a replacement for the Ford F-Series panel delivery (cargo van) then two other models were available, a passenger van and a pickup truck to compete directly against the Chevrolet Corvair van, Volkswagen Transporter, and Dodge A100 on that time.
As offered here is very unique, a 1966 Ford Econoline Super Van E-series that has all camper amenities inside. It's hard to find today, especially in this condition, its age, and its specifications. It has unusual factory specifications, the wheelbase has a 90-inch extended, a heavy-duty undercarriage upgrade, and a fiberglass high top.
This is not the default engine, it has been replaced by a new one, upgraded to a larger engine capacity with a warranty included. Brand new 300ci 4.9L inline six-cylinder motor that has a 7-year warranty. Claimed more horsepower and is one of the most durable engines ever made by Ford and a favorite of many American truck enthusiasts.
The interior looks well in photos and seems to have been completely restored, fitted with a lot of recreation vehicle amenities into it. We don't know what the original looked like the same way or vice versa because this one is so obscure In the world of vintage campers. However, the interior looks cozy.
A little-known factory high-top camper conversion manufactured by Cam-Pact, as we know Westfalia on the Volkswagen Transporter is a big name at that time till today. But if you want a camper van that looks unique and more intense vintage scent, this Super Van would be perfect to consider.

Seller notes:
You will find the body has minor imperfections. This is not a frame-up restoration. Nothing major. Spare tire carrier caused some dings on rear right cargo door. Other small dings and imperfections visible. All small
the horn does not work
the weatherstripping could be upgraded but does not leak, which is the important part
The van comes with two new modern seatbelts but they need to be installed
Two of the pop-out windows are plexiglass rather than glass, and are fully functional and do not leak however they do have spidering
Underside quarter panels could use attention. Not major
It really is spectacular.
The amount of work it takes to revive a vehicle like this really can’t be understated. There are hundreds of hours into the van interior alone, not including the body and mechanics. For everything you see with your naked eye there are a hundred other small hidden components to source, replace, or fix. That is the nature of restoring a classic vehicle and all of that work has been done for you. There are two binders worth of receipts, notes, diagrams, brochures, etc that come with the sale. There are six years and 10 months remaining on the warranty. Owner transfer permitted.
Freeda is a mix of classic auto history and modern spoils.
Plug in your shore power, pop up your solar panels, or run off your leisure battery for creature comforts no matter where you are. Do it from under the shade of your custom awning. There is room to mount surfboards on the ceiling or get creative and add a custom rack to the fiberglass top. One of the best parts of owning this van and driving it around is talking with all of the people who will approach you and want to know more about it.
