2003 Orion 7 Citybus For SaleHere we found a retired city bus being offered on Craigslist for $7,450 located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As shown here a 2003 Orion 7 Citybus has 35 feet long, and in a roadworthy condition. The interior has been stripped, and the owner wants to convert it into an RV, partially has done.
It could be the perfect bone as an RV conversion project for the experts. A few things to watch to consider, such as budget, working time, and knowledge. It's going to be a very long job if we want to make it a true Class A. The budget will climb if you make a mistake in the calculations. If you don't have time, leave it to the professionals, with the cost for sure. You must know what you buy and what you want.
As usual in the design of city buses, they have a low profile, where the floor is close to the ground. So they have limitations, not all fields they can pass, and adjustments or modifications needed to outsmart these weaknesses if your goal is to make it an RV.
Fitted a Detroit Diesel Series 50 is an inline four-cylinder diesel engine paired with Allison Automatic Transmission, with 494000 miles on it. No mechanical issue reportedly, it's able to run a million miles ahead.
Apart from the interior work, and fitting the amenities, probably bodywork is needed for some adjustments, and also suspension modifications to keep the floor off the ground. Avoid miss calculation, close inspection is a must.
