Hard To Find Camper, 1966 Ford Econoline Super Van

Hard To Find Camper, 1966 Ford Econoline Super Van

Hard To Find Camper, 1966 Ford Econoline Super Van For Sale

Check out this groovy gem I stumbled upon – a vintage camper van straight out of American history! This beauty, a Ford Econoline Super Van from 1966, is up for grabs on Craigslist, nestled in sunny Orange County, California, for a cool $29,999.

Let's take a trip down memory lane with the Ford Econoline, lovingly nicknamed the Super Van, which roamed the roads during its first-generation reign from 1961 to 1967. Originally crafted to replace the Ford F-Series panel delivery, this bad boy was Ford's answer to the Chevrolet Corvair, Volkswagen Transporter, and Dodge van craze of the era.

1965 Ford E100T Econoline Truck

1965 Ford E100T Econoline Truck

The American classic truck, this rarely Ford truck, they don't have nose. This a first generation of the Ford Econoline comes in pickup model built in 1965. Based on the compact Ford Falcon drive-train, the first Ford Econoline was intended to compete with the Chevrolet Greenbrier and Volkswagen Type 2.

Detail by owner
1965 Ford E100T Econoline Pickup Truck

Very rare Ford Truck half ton with front flat nose and rare unmolested cab with two curved back windows. Excellent bucket seats with useful center console interior. Strong/tight non-smoker, non-dripper, Peppy original straight 6 (170ci. - 2.8L), automatic transmission. It has a new rebuilt transmission, radiator, alternator, voltage regulator and starter. New brakes, shocks, motor mount, fuel sender float and torque converter.

Great correct orange finish. Survivor that has some very small rust, but for its age it's great!. Always garaged, maintained and pampered. Only 94,000 original miles (that's less than 2000 miles per year). This was grandpa's baby and he only used it to go to town for supplies.

Factory spinner hubcaps and radial tires. It has a 7' long bed, but when you lower the tailgate it's almost 9'.

Very few made and hardly any left. Very collectible and appreciating (alot better than the Stock Market). And a lot more fun & much better conversation piece to show off. Runs & Drives Great and Looks Sweet! You will look forever to find one of these in this original condition.

1997 Ford Econoline E350 4x4 Van For Sale

Here's the fourth generation of Econoline Van produced by Ford in the 90s. It's a Ford Econoline E350 4x4 Van built in 1997. A major change of the engine lineup was made in 1997; with the 6.8L Triton V10 engine. The Econoline received an updated front end with a new grille that featured an oval cutout and a new lower front bumper trim. Inside, an ergonomic dashboard layout containing dual airbags was introduced.

The Econoline was listed ten days ago on Craigslist and was still online when we posted it here. It's a well-maintained 4x4 Camper Van, with a lot of updates and upgrades during current ownership. Runs, and drives great without mechanical or leak issues.

1962 Ford Econoline Pickup Truck

1962 Ford Econoline Pickup Truck

Here's we found American classic single cab by Ford, it's a 1962 Ford Econoline Pickup Truck on original condition, very nice object for restoration car project. This is a 52 year old truck. There is wear, dents and some rust, but overall, considering that President Kennedy was in the White House when this rolled off the assembly line, it is in great shape, very clean and unmolested.

Detail about this pickup by owner
1962 Ford Econoline 5 window pickup. Original 170 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder with a 3 speed column shift transmission (3 on the tree). Original factory paint and interior. Runs and drives great, has current California registration until 2015. I did a basic tune up (plugs, points, condenser, fuel filter and oil change) and a thorough detail. Other than that, I have not altered anything on it.

It runs strong, drives surprisingly well and gets decent mileage. The odometer reads 37,000 but is not currently working, so I cannot verify actual mileage. It drives like it has low mileage. The steering box has very little play and it steers straight. It doesn't have power brakes, so you do have to step on them, but it doesn't pull to one side when you do apply the brakes. The clutch doesn't slip or chatter. Headlights and taillights are working, but the turn signals and brake lights are not currently working (probably a fuse). Gas gauge is registering, but I do not trust it and always keep it full. Someone installed an auxiliary electric fan in front of the radiator on a switch (it still retains its original belt driven fan, but the second fan helps greatly with cooling in stop and go traffic).

This is an ORIGINAL PAINT vehicle. Factory Ford paint, except for a small touch up on the "A" pillar and the tailgate, the bed has been sprayed with red oxide primer. There are some dents, but I have tried to show them in their entirety. This pickup lived its entire life in Arroyo Grande, California. There is very little rust, but there is some in the areas that these typically collect water. Pics show this, but feel free to ask questions.
It has 4 matching Hankook 13" white walls. Plenty of tread left. No spare.

In closing, this is a very nice original pickup. Not abused, hacked up or customized, as many of these are. It is not going to set any land speed records or drive like a 2014 Lexus, but this is the essence of what people refer to as a "survivor" or "California Car".
